Taste the Cool: 7-Eleven now open in the 032

July 31, 2012

7-Eleven, the world’s largest convenience store chain, through its country licensee, Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), has finally crossed the seas to the Queen City of the South, opening an initial of 7 stores by July 31, 2012. The new stores are located at Escario Central, JY Square Mall, UCLM, Tune Hotels, Bigfoot Ramos, Caltex North Reclamation Area, Caltex Mango Avenue.

Along with the promise of 24/7 convenience, 7-Eleven also brings new offerings to the city. Most notably, Cebuanos can now enjoy the iconic drink, Slurpee. Also, 7-Eleven offers convenient alternatives such as freshly-brewed coffee, soft serve ice cream, Big Bite hotdog, siopao, to name a few.

With over half of the country’s population living outside of Luzon, PSC has pushed forward with their expansion in order to bring modern convenience to more Filipinos. As an industry leader, currently with 750 stores located mainly in Luzon, PSC made sure that it first had the capability to expand stably into the region. Though this took time, the company had to hurdle logistical challenges when it came to setting up operations.

A total of 100 stores are planned for Cebu, at least 30 of which are slated to open by the end of 2012. PSC’s partnership with Chevron Philippines, Inc. (CPI) has played a key role in enabling these efforts. The agreement, inked this July, renews the PSC-CPI partnership and enables the c-store chain to open 7-Eleven store in Caltex stations in Metro Cebu. At least 15 stores will be opened at Caltex outlets by year-end.

This July 31, 7-Eleven celebrates this momentous occasion with its grand opening activities at the Escario Central store. Starting 12:00pm, 7-Eleven is giving out free Slurpee to the first 500 customers who make a purchase worth any amount at the Escario Central store. The street party kicks off at 5:00pm and customers can expect to enjoy numerous freebies and activities. The event will be attended by celebrity guests Paul Jake Castillo, Jessie Mendiola and Rayver Cruz and will culminate in a concert featuring Foc Fashion, Powerspoonz and Franco.
