After more than 15 years of successfully establishing itself as the No. 1 convenience store chain in the country, world-renowned brand 7-Eleven marks another impressive year with new milestones in celebration of 7-Eleven Day: the grand opening of its 270th outlet in the Visayas region, including expansion ventures that will further cement its undisputed leadership standing.
Anchoring its expansion bid to a fast-growing economy, 7-Eleven, via its exclusive local licensor, Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC), aims to boost its campaign across the country with Visayas as a key starting point.
Making a new mark
To kick-off the milestone store opening, PSC held a motorcade and ribbon cutting ceremony for the 7-Eleven Liteport Tagbilaran, Bohol outlet which was attended by PSC officials Gil M. Abad (Regional Operations Manager), Francisco Gayanilo (District Manager for Central Visayas Operations), Liwayway Fernandez (Operations Division Head), and Atty. Evelyn Enriquez (Legal and Corporate Service Division Head), together with special guests from Liteport and local government officials. The excitement among guests reached its feverish peak as the lively festival drumbeating, street dancing, and various dance performances unfold. Raffle draws, sampling activities, and special promotions served as the fun activities to which loyal patrons eagerly took part of.
Since entering the region in 2012, PSC has successfully catered the Visayas populace in key cities. As a priority investment location for PSC, it is also one of the territories that demonstrated consistent and unprecedented growth, with an average of 45% franchisees applying to operate their own C-stores.
To date, Bohol is the fourth major island with 7-Eleven presence, followed by Cebu, Bacolod (2013) Iloilo (2014), and Boracay (2015). PSC is targeting to open seven more stores in Bohol by the end of the year, and is optimistic in having a total of 30 stores in the next three years.
Apart from its newest store in Tagbilaran, PSC is all set in asserting its foothold in the Visayas region with its continued accelerated expansion in target locations. While pushing further its intention to expand the franchise business’ potential in the rest of the country, PSC promises Filipino consumers with new and better customer-oriented store experiences as it builds a more competitive and strategic branding campaign in the months to come.
7-Eleven remains the most trusted franchise business of choice among potential Filipino partners and the solo leader in the convenience store category. Currently, PSC operates a total of2,0957-Eleven stores nationwide, 938of which are corporate stores and 1,157franchise-owned.
With demonstrated global success, 7-Eleven’s franchise package offers suitable franchise partners two ways to benefit from a proven system — Regular New Store Franchise (open a new 7-Eleven store) and Property Conversion (convert an established business or properties into a 7-Eleven franchise). Apart from one-month preparatory training, partners are lent with assistance especially at the first crucial stages of operational transition, from supervising, basic HR coaching, to sales monitoring.
