MANILA, Philippines — True to its vision of becoming the best retailer of convenience for emerging markets, Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC) formally opened today its 1000th 7-Eleven store in the country at the I.T. Building of the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City.

The latest store opening serves as another milestone for the Philippines’ largest convenience store chain operator, as it surpasses its performance of 500 stores in 28 years by doubling this figure in just 3 years.

Even with the influx of competitors from, 7-Eleven remains unshaken, responding with more aggressive expansion and continuous innovation.
After promising in 2010 to have 500 more stores in the next 3 years, 7-Eleven successfully held a series of new store openings including the first 7-Eleven in Cebu in 2012 and in Bacolod in 2013. Today, there are 54 stores in Visayas, mostly in Cebu City.

But the best is yet to come as PSC targets to open 300 more 7-Eleven stores this year. One of PSC’s plans is to continue expanding in Visayas by opening more stores in Cebu, Bacolod and Iloilo.

Another key factor of its ongoing expansion is through successful partnerships. Just before 2013 ended,

7-Eleven reached another milestone with its trusted partner, Chevron Philippines, Inc., as the two industry giants opened the 50th Caltex 7-Eleven store.
